In Viernheim, sustainable architecture and lighting
design are a perfect match
The Ellipse brings together the city's green vision for the future

Sustainability is embodied by the newly occupied town hall of the city of Viernheim. Visible in the exterior and interior design, according to Mayor Matthias Baaß, the move to the so-called Ellipse marks ‘an important step into the future of our administration.’ The elliptical building in the southern Hessian city is equipped with heat pumps and a photovoltaic system, while inside, flexible workspaces ensure employee comfort. Matthias Baaß summarises the sustainable vision as follows: ‘The city of Viernheim places a high value on creating a modern and pleasant working environment. Our employees can concentrate on their work anywhere in the building and have the opportunity to choose from different work areas that best suit their respective tasks.’

Our luminaire families Liquid Line and Ringo Star, created with a holistic approach in mind, complement the green vision in the Ellipse. Pendant luminaires from the Liquid Line series, with their elliptical shape, visually follow the curve of the building and greet employees and visitors in the reception area and cafeteria. The different ring widths of Ringo Star illuminate the heart of the town hall, the magistrate's room. In their matt black finish, the luminaire series complete the pleasantly discreet interior design and provide soft lighting, perfect for public spaces.
