McKellar Mental Health & Wellbeing Centre Lighting Design for Safety and Comfort

The McKellar Mental Health & Wellbeing Centre in North Geelong, Australia, is a modern acute psychiatric hospital. The design of the hospital's intensive care units aims to give patients a sense of security and avoid a sterile atmosphere.

The lighting solution also plays a central role in this. Our partner LPA developed a solution that meets the highest safety, quality and compliance standards. As the safety of patients and staff is the top priority, all the luminaires used had to be lightfast, tamper-proof and IK-tested. The selection process was intensive and went through strict approval procedures.

Our Matric F5 recessed luminaires with Tuneable White were used in the corridors of the centre. The linear luminaires with opal diffuser ensure a uniform and bright lighting level. This creates a safe, friendly and well-lit environment for both patients and staff.

This well thought-out design not only supports the recovery of patients, but also the well-being of staff by creating a welcoming and calming atmosphere.
