Opened in 1918 as one of the most elegant and modern hotels in Europe, the Fürstenhof in Bad Eilsen was a meeting place for aristocrats, artists and personalities from business and politics. During the Second World War, the Fürstenhof was used for military purposes before serving as the headquarters of the Royal Air Force after the end of the war. The building then stood empty for a long time.
In spring 2020, the Fürstenhof was reopened after two and a half years of extensive refurbishment. Today, it serves as one of four wards of the rehabilitation centre of the German Pension Insurance Braunschweig-Hanover.
The historic rooms on the ground floor, which are now used as event and conference rooms, were restored in close consultation with the conservation authorities. Pendant luminaires from Lightnet's Ringo Star range set impressive accents here as modern chandeliers and provide atmospheric, perfectly harmonised lighting.
